Bakhmatyuk's Ukrlandfarming Among Top 15 Corporate Donors Helping Fight COVID in Ukraine
Ukrainian healthcare is facing a major challenge in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. Businesses are actively helping doctors and ordinary Ukrainians to cope with it. In particular, Oleg Bakhmatyuk's Ukrlandfarming has donated UAH 20 million to purchase medical equipment and supplies needed by hospitals to fight the coronavirus
Since the start of the coronavirus epidemic in Ukraine, a whole host of problems in the healthcare system have been exposed: hospital infectious disease departments are not ready to treat a large number of patients, there are critically few lung ventilators in the country, and doctors and medical staff themselves lack basic personal protective equipment such as suits, gloves and masks. Ukrainian businesses are actively involved in solving the problem. "DS" analyzed open sources and found out how much big business has already spent on fighting the coronavirus.
One of the largest donors is the Ukrlandfarming agricultural group, owned by the businessman Oleg Bakhmatyuk. The owner of the Ukrainian agricultural group has donated UAH 20 million to purchase lung ventilators, laboratory equipment, inhalers, disinfectants and personal protective equipment for doctors in different parts of Ukraine.
Ukrlandfarming is one of the country's largest agricultural groups engaged in farming grains and oilseeds, seed production, livestock farming and production of eggs and egg products (Avangardco IPL), "Ukrainian News" reports. The group's companies operate out of 600 communities in 22 regions of Ukraine. Ukrlandfarming is owned by the Ukrainian businessman Oleg Bakhmatyuk.
